| From the beginning (well after we decided to become farmers!) we have been dedicated to producing the best quality meat possible. To do this we believe you need to raise happy contented animals which has always been our priority. We follow organic farming principles which does not permit synthetic fertilizers nor the use of antibiotics or growth promotors for our livestock. We also passionately believe in supporting rarer breeds of livestock to increase biodiversity on farms and save these wonderful breeds from extinction.
We have been just as committed to avoiding nasties in our produce and all products are preservative and gluten free. Our small goods (ham, bacon, sausage etc) do not have that bright pink colour usually found in them due to the lack of preservative (namely nitrites) which we believe makes for a much healthier product. It does also mean that our products have a shorter shelf life than more conventionally produced goods but all our products can be frozen without any detrimental effect on taste or texture.
At present our produce is only available through the farmer's markets we attend at MtClaremont and Subiaco at the weekends however, on November 25th we begin trading at Fremantle main market every third Friday please see our events calender for futher details on all these markets. We are also working on our online shop and are hoping to add a delivery service to metropolitan Perth in the not too distant future. Down the track we are planning on launching our branded Chorizo sausage to be sold in selected delis and food outlets-watch this space.

SBF Smoked Ham - a simple but distinctive leg ham, boned and rolled and available as whole pieces in approximately 400g packs. This ham has been brined in organic lake salt then hot smoked in beech wood using organic sugar, rosemary and the skills of an artisanal butcher. At Christmas time the ham is also available as a whole Leg on Bone Christmas Ham and a parlty boned and rolled Champagne (shoulder) Christmas Ham - please contact us from the beginning of October for availability and making a booking

Nitrate Free Smoked Bacon - handmade bacon, robustly flavoured, brined in lake salt and smoked over smouldering peices of Karri - approximately 400g packs. Made with a little organic sugar and rosemary and the all skills of an artisanal butcher. Goes nicely with our pure pork sausages.

Dry Aged Dexter Beef- Various butchered cuts made from dry aged sides of our own herd of Dexter catlle. Dexters are a rare, old fashioned breed, reknowned for their flavour and hardiness. The cattle are certified orgainic meaning that they are grass fed making for a slow grown natural tasting side of beef. Available fresh as roasts, steaks, deced minced and burgers.

Chirizo Sausage- A handmade pork sausage made from our free range Berkshire pork. The sausage is mixed with chili and paprika before hot smoking. Very tasty, it makes a simple starter grilled on the bbq - just finish with a squeeze of lemon. Alternatively, slow cook it with chick peas, fresh herbs and a bottle of cider for a classic spanish peasant dish fit for a king.

Hogget - Before everybody ate lamb, the best meat from a sheep was hogget. A few months more mature than lamb, it has more meat and is more robustly falvoured. Made from our own flock of rare breed long horned wiltshire sheep, this hogget makes the best curries in the world.

Fresh Pork Cuts - Beatifully butchered cuts of our Berkshire free range pork, sold individually or in a 10kg freezer pack. The pigs are slow grown and 100% raised and reared on pasture. They have a simple diet of herbs and roots that they root up, supplemented with gristed barley and lupins. People say this is the best tasting pork that they have had.

Pure Pork sausages- All the best meat from our free range pigs, made into a pure pork sausage with the addition of just a little sea salt, black pepper and rice flour. Gluten and preseervative free, these are simply the most delicous sausage we know how to make.
